《課程標準》提出要培養學生的祖國意識和國際視野,因此本課抓住機會讓學生比較中國和英國不同的生日習俗,讓學生不會隨著中國與國際接軌反而忘了中國傳統的生日習俗.為了不使滲透文化意識像蜻蜓點水一帶而過,同時學生的英語水平有限,采用教師出示圖并介紹,而后有一個小練習了解學生的理解程度.同時該環節有助于發展學生的聽力.
在該練習后教師鼓勵學生課后進一步查詢相關的資料,以更擴大自己的視野.培養學生的自學意識.

上課初馬上提出學習任務,讓學生帶著明確的學習目標學習.為照顧差異,任務既有英文也有中文,讓學困生更好的了解學習任務.
"生活即教育"通過創設讓學生幫助找東西的場景,先復習舊知識in,而后引出新單詞on,under的學習,以舊帶新,降低學習難度.列舉多個用相同發音規律的單詞培養學生自主發現和總結發音規律的能力.
通過手勢讓學生更好的明白新單詞的意思.
教育心理學研究表明,課堂及時復習要比六小時以后復習的效率高出四倍.因此在新單詞學習到一定階段時采用看,畫的方式,了解學生對單詞的理解程度.
課程標準特別強調要關注每個學生的情感,激發他們學習英語的興趣,幫助他們建立學習的成就感和自信心,使他們在學習過程中發展綜合語言運用能力,在本環節采用動畫將物品不斷的累加或抽取來練習on和under使學生能聯想到平時常玩的疊積木,從而發現生活處處有英語,對英語更充滿興趣.
課程標準理念之一:開發課程資源,拓展學用渠道,因此在本環節充分利用課文練習三的圖案改頭換面成為一個memory game在保持興趣的同時充分利用手頭現有的學習資料.
學習課文通過提出兩個問題分層次完成,從易到難.
學習任務分步驟提出,先讓學生看圖,討論,介紹大明其他禮物所在的位置,主要練習學生聽,說的能力;第二個環節讓學生擺放自己要給大明的禮物,并寫成一封信,既與課文聯系上,又培養學生動手和寫的能力,落實三年級英語要達到一級教學目標中能正確書寫26個字母和詞組.
有的同學粘貼圖片,有的同學書寫句子,有的同學讀信件,在活動中培養學生的合作意識.
評價由學生自己完成,在學習中培養學生自評和互評意識.
