　　中國菜(cuisine)是中國各地區(qū)、各民族各種菜肴的統(tǒng)稱，也指發(fā)源于中國的烹飪方式。中國菜歷史悠久，流派(genre)眾多，主要代表菜系有“八大菜系”。每一菜系因氣候、地理、歷史、烹飪技巧和生活方式的差異而風格各異。中國菜的調料(seasoning)豐富多樣，調料的不同是形成地方特色菜的主要原因之一。中國菜強調色、香、味俱佳，味是菜肴的靈魂。中國飲食文化博大精深，作為世界三大菜系之一的中國菜，在海內外享有盛譽。

　　1.第一句話的漢語由兩個分句組成，句子較長，在譯成英文時，可把它拆分成兩句。“也指發(fā)源于中國的烹飪方式”可單獨譯成一句also refers to cooking styles originating fromChina，這樣可以更好的體現兩句的并列關系。

　　2.第二句話由三個分句組成。翻譯時將“中國菜流派眾多”譯為主句，“歷史悠久”用with a history of…來表達，“主要代表菜系有…”則用非限制性定語從句表示。這樣可以使譯文結構緊湊，句式多樣。

　　3.第三句中的“風格各異”可以用be distinctive from表達，比用have different styles更地道。

　　4.在“中國菜強調色、香、味俱佳”中，“色、香、味俱佳”的英文翻譯并沒有逐字的對應，因而增譯了combination，把漢語中暗含的意思完整地表達出來。

　　話題原文：

　　“中國制造”指在中國制造的商品所附的標簽。由于中國有豐富的勞動力資源和原材料資源等優(yōu)勢，中國制造的產品物美價廉，受到世界各國的歡迎。中國的制造業(yè)迅速發(fā)展，“中國制造”已經成為一個在全球廣受認可的標簽。目前中國已經成為世界制造業(yè)的中心，被稱為“世界工廠”。盡管全球大量的電子產品和鞋都是中國制造，但這些產品的設計都是在歐美國家完成的，如今越來越多的中國公司致力于開創(chuàng)自己的品牌。希望實現從“中國制造”到“中國設計”的轉變。

Owing to the advantages ofrich labor resources and raw material resources inChina, products made in China are well-received inthe world on account of their competitive price andsuperior quality. Although globally a greatnumber of electronic products and shoes are made in China, all their designs are completed inEuropean and American countries. 　　1.“由于中國有豐富的勞動力資源…”，可以使用owing to是“受到世界各國的歡迎”的原因，翻譯時可以使用on account of引出理由，避免重復。

　　2.“中國的制造業(yè)迅速發(fā)展”與“中國制造”已經成為一個在全球廣受認識的標簽”是因果關系，為避免與前面表達原因的短語重復，可以使用短語thanks to…。

　　3.在“盡管全球大量的電子產品和鞋都是中國制造，但這些產品的設計都是在歐美國家完成的”中，“電子產品和鞋”是“制造”的受動者，“設計”是“完成”的受動者，故使用被動語態(tài)來翻譯。

　　4.最后一句中“希望實現從‘中國制造’到‘中國設計’的轉變”可使用現在分詞作狀語，譯作hoping to betransformed from "Made in China" into "Designed in China"。“實現”一詞可省略，把漢語原文中的名詞“轉變”譯作動詞transform，這樣處理句子更簡潔。
