Teaching Aims 【Knowledge and skills】Study with hello, hi greet; Introduce oneself, inquire the full name of other persons; Study digitals 0 ~ 9 and express ways to telephone numbers; Study “am, is, are”, what questions and pronouns “ my, your, his and her”; To get the basic information of opposite side from dialogue; Establish class telephone directory; Learn to produce character cards. 【Processes and methods】Adopt the learning strategy of Practicing, Listening for specific information and Role playing, use teaching picture or produce multi-media lesson to spread out the social campaign of spoken language of classroom Pair work and Group work, practice through dialogue, make students grasp how to introduce themselves and greeting other persons in English, ask full name, telephone number and understanding of other person make character card concerning the cultural knowledge of full name. Practice sentence pattern using cartoon image, practice figure with ballad. 【Emotion, attitudes and value】This content keeps close to the life of student, the topic is making new friends, make students know each other further, make student be acquainted in relaxed, happy learning atmosphere new partner, enhance friendship. At the same time learn how to call the full name of western person, know some western cultures. Difficulties and focus 1. What question; 2. Pronouns: my, your, his and her; 3. Digitals 0~9; 4. Verb “be” 一am, is, are. Teaching and studying design of mutual actions Section A Create plots and scenes to guide the new lesson The main content is to learn to introduce ourselves and greet other persons, so we can adopt the Audiovisual Guiding Method: At first the teacher may prepare some cartoon pictures, imitate the sounds of different persons to introduce themselves, elicit the basic sentence patterns of this part: I’m Mary. Hi. My name’s Jenny. I’m Gina. Nice to meet you. Teacher introduces himself/herself and greets with students again; Finally teacher lets students introduce and greets each other. Pre-read to apperceive and grasp the whole Section A is divided into three-layer. 1 a~1c is to let student to introduce themselves and greet each other and ask the information What’ s your name? through practicing the dialogue ; 2 a~2c Through hearing and practicing dialogue to ask the information of the third person What’s his/her name? 3a~4 on grasping the foundation of basic goal language, know the basic general knowledge of English full name. Cooperate and intercourse to unscramble and research The main content in Section A is to learn the target language: What’s your name? My name’s Jenny. / I’m Gina. What’s his/her name? His/Her name is… 3、【Experiences】 1)Play the tape of Part 1b, and get the students to listen and choose the proper conversations and mark the order, finish the teaching task of Part 1b. 2)Play the tape of Part 2a, and get the students to listen and choose the proper conversations and mark the order, finish the teaching task of Part 2a. 3)Play the tape of Part 2a again,and get the students to circle the names. 4、【Activities】 Get the students do Pair work, and finish the teaching task of oral intercourse in Part 2c. Require students to learn to use the sentence pattern My name’s … / I’m … His/Her name is…to say the name of themselves or others’ names each other. Application and transfer, consolidation and improvement 1. Know new friends: new students in Grade 8 have just come to the same class, a lot of persons do not know each other, according to this, it’s suitable to teach “ self introduction”, “ask others’ name”.
