英語作文 篇2
Save Water
Water is very important for us. We must drink water everyday. We can’t live without water. Water is everywhere around us. At home, we use water to wash clothes, to wash dishes, to cook rice, to clean the flat, to have showers, to make drinks, to clean our teeth, to have a bath and so on. At work, people use water to put out fires, to grow vegetables, to make things in factories and so on. We also can swim in the sea. Water is important for us, isn’t it?

英語作文 篇3
Attending schools abroad has many advantages. In the first place, by looking at our own country from outside, we can best see the strong points and weak points of our nation and therefore widen our vision and broaden our minds. Second, while studying in a foreign country, we can travel widely, visiting famous scenic spots and making friends with the local people. Thirdly we can use the foreign language in our daily life so that our ability in the second language may be improved quickly. But the most important thing in attending a foreign university is to get acquainted with the latest knowledge in science and technology and make use of the first-rate facilities available. For all these advantages, it is really worthwhile to go abroad for education.
However, as everything has two sides, there are also some disadvantages in attending a foreign university. The most serious problem is the language barrier. Most of the students who are ready to go abroad do not adequate knowledge of the language spoken there. As a result, on arriving there, they will find it difficult to understand what the instructors are saying. Besides, for lack of knowledge of the customs and way of life of the local people, they may run into trouble in dealing with various situations. Therefore, misunderstandings often arise. Furthermore, the cost of living is much higher than that in our country, so most students have to find part-tine jobs in order to help support themselves. Faced with these difficulties, many students find themselves unable to pay full attention to their studies and some students may even fail in their courses and learn little.
Therefore, given an opportunity to attend a school abroad, one must consider both sides of the factors carefully before making up his mind. On the whole, it is a good thing to go and study abroad particularly when the subject is very weak or not available in our country. But on the other hand, one must not lose sight of the disadvantages.
英語作文 篇4
Silence should be gold, because it can make us more rational and modest. Silence let us have more opportunities to think about some matters. Then the decision will be made more carefully. As a result, we may deal with something more smoothly, and finally achieve the success. So in my opinion, I think silence is a kind of reflection. You know reflection is a symbol of wisdom. In the south of our school's Yifu Library, there is a contemplator statue sitting in the square. He has sited and kept silent there for many years. I think this statue teach us how to consider and reflect. That's to be modest and silent, when thinking. It will be a valuable venture for all researchers and students. So it is necessary to study how to keep silent.
Someone may realize that silence is rather easier than speech. I think it is not exactly true. Speech only needs our courage and confidence. However, silence not only needs our courage, but also need us to have clear mind and generous heart. Sometimes it's not easy to get this. For example, do you remember in the world cup final 20xx, Zidan (the captain of French team) head-butt a player of Italy so that he was showed red card and sent off immediately. It is pity for French, because of losing the leader in the football field. Finally, French team lost the opportunity of achieving final success. So silence make person calm, and avoid impulsion.
Sometimes silence means endurance. Though I admit endurance isn't good for our psychology health, sometimes it is necessary. If you want to success, you have to be willing to endure something which may be produced by yourself or others. Then just keep silent to do it. You should believe that action speaks louder than words. So do a man of action(doer).
英語作文 篇5
A new lease on life
Sheltered in a quiet inlet, resting in less than 50 feet of water, the Kasi Marus has undergone an extraordinary transformation.
These waters are teeming with microscopic creatures. But water is a world in motion. And what these creatures need is a firm-fixed base, on which they can anchor and grow. The sudden arrival of the Kasi Marus was a stroke of luck. The battered hole proved to be exactly what these creatures were after. From the moment the ship sank, she became the scene of a second battle, bombarded by all sorts of marine life, fighting to gain a foothold. Among the first to colonize the stark scaffolding of the Kasi Marus, were the hard corals. They began to build, and it’s the corals that are the architects of this new world. Their designs come in all shapes and sizes.
Branching corals grow quickly in the warm calm waters. Plate corals grow more slowly, but their unhurried advance pays off. Eventually their flat expanses block light from reaching species underneath, stifling the competition. Massive brain corals, the slowest growing of all, are also the toughest. They’re built to withstand rough storms at sea, but here, shielded from the violence of the waves, they flourish side by side with more delicate cousins. In the benevolent conditions of the cove, the corals on this wreck grow in fantastic diversity, numbering well over 100.
