　　The old year passed, and the new year came again. In the past year, we stand together through storm and stress. 　　It was the day before the new year. I was pushed back by my father to my home, and my mother stayed at home and watched the door. I really do not want to leave my mother, because she is not good, but is still my favorite! I don't want my mother to be alone for the new year. Although only one night, but no mother, I am still very sad. On New Year's Eve, although outside the waves, a lively scene, but I was not happy, one night, to my mother.

　　The Lunar New Year

　　The Lunar New Year is a great occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year， during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school， and shops are closed.

　　Several days before the new year， people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs， sheep， cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; coupletsare posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.

　　On the eve of the new year， each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock strickes twelve. Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers and other fire works to welcome the new year. On the first day of the new year， almost everyone is dressed in his or her best. When people meet on the way， they say to each other "Happy New Year". Friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other. Children indulge themselves in games.

　　要善于模仿

　　一些同學的辦法往往是背一堆范文，然后再到考場上進行一個“剪切”、“粘貼”的工作，真正的模仿重點永遠要放在一定的句式結構上，而非個別的詞匯。有一個句式說：“…for the simple reason that…”表示某種現象的原因是什么，用在高考寫作中，我們就可以拿來解釋為什么自行車在中國如此的流行：“The bicycle is very popular in China for the simple reason that…”。然而，很多同學一談到原因仍然是“…because…”。如果要表示“總是能夠”的概念，很多同學提筆就會寫can always，但理想的句子應該是用雙重否定表示強烈的肯定，用never fail to。

　　要靈活變通

　　在批改過上萬份同學們英語作文中，經常能發現一些將中文生硬地翻譯成英文的表達法。有一句話叫做“立志如山，行道如水”，寫英文作文，一定要有決心把它寫好，有信心把意思表達清楚，這是“立志如山”;但關鍵是遇到問題時要有個靈活的'態度，能像流水一樣變通解決問題。有個翻譯界的故事說：在某大型國際會議的招待會上，一道菜是用雞蛋做的。與會的客人問翻譯:“What is it made of”本來是非常簡單的一個問題，結果翻譯太緊張，忘了“egg”這個詞，但是他急中生智，回答：“It is made of Miss Hen’s son.”這里，就是一個靈活變通的范例。繞道表達，是寫作中應該常常運用的一種方法。

　　要細心觀察

　　注意英語中一些表達上的習慣。比如在正式文體的寫作中，很少用 “it isn’t”這樣的略縮形式，而往往是一板一眼地寫作 “it is not”。同理，在正式文體中的日期一般不縮寫，阿拉伯數字一般會用英文表達(特別長的數字除外)。

　　許多同學在寫作文時，習慣于把“since”“because” “for”這樣的詞放在句首引導原因狀語從句。事實上，在我們見到的英語報刊雜志文章中，這樣的從句一般都是放在主句之后的。另外, “and”也常常被誤放在一句話的開頭，表示兩個句子之間的并列或遞進關系。其實，經常留心地道的英語文章能發現，如果是并列關系，完全可以不用連詞;如果是遞進關系，用“furthermore” “what is more”更為普遍。

　　要心有全局

　　英文寫作如果結構意識良好，應試寫作就簡化成為一個填空的過程了，適當地填入觀點、素材，文章就自然而然立起來了。

　　臨考在即，同學們要牢記英語寫作的基本要領，特編順口溜如下：細審題，巧構思，列要點，防遺漏。寫日記，同漢語;書信，通知格式要牢記。看清圖表細梳理，寫人記事按順序;完稿后查遺漏，整潔干凈莫忘記。
