2015考研英語詞匯 “AS”的用法

一、介詞
（一）好像：
They enteredthe building disguised as cleaners.
他們化裝成清潔工人的模樣進入了大樓。
（二） 作為，當作：
I am tempted to define “journalism” as a term of contempt.
我禁不住將新聞業(yè)定義為一個蔑視的稱謂。
（be temptedto 直譯為“被誘惑”，但是用I 做主語的時候最好轉(zhuǎn)譯為：禁不住，愿意，會等）
He has elected the activity of thinking as his primary duty.
他已經(jīng)選擇了思考的行為作為他主要的責任
（ elect = choose）
His reputation as a music critic has long been in dispute.
他作為音樂評論家的聲譽一直飽受爭議。
二、副詞
（一）
1.As（副詞）+形容詞或副詞+as（介詞）+名詞 （構(gòu)成比較結(jié)構(gòu)）
The dress is twice as expesive as that one.
（倍數(shù)加在第一個as前）
I haven't known him as long as you.
= I haven't known him as long as you （have done）。
我認識他的時間沒有你認識他的時間久。
2.As（副詞）+ 形容詞或副詞+as （連詞）+句子（構(gòu)成比較結(jié)構(gòu)）
（1）He looks as ill as he sounded on the phone.
他的樣子和他在電話中說話的聲音所反映的病情是一樣的。
（2）His eyes aren't quite as blue as they lookin the film.
他的眼睛不像在電影里見到的那樣藍。
（3）IQ tests are not given as often as theyused to be.
智商測試不像以前那樣經(jīng)常被使用了。
（二）、As （副詞）：像，如，和…無不同。
As beforehe remained unmoved.
和過去一樣，他無動于衷。
三、連詞
（一） 表時間
I watched her as she combed her hair.
她梳頭的時候我一直看著她
（二） 表原因（常放在句首）
As you weren't there I left a message.
因為你不在那里，我留了個信兒。
（三）表示讓步 （常放在形容詞或者副詞后）
Simple as the picture is， the symbolic meaningbehind it is as deep as ocean.
盡管圖畫很簡單，但是其背后的寓意卻非常深刻。
（四） 表示方式
They did as I had asked.
他們是按照我的要求做的。
四、關(guān)系代詞（在牛津詞典中還是歸結(jié)在連詞中，但是在理解的時候理解為代詞更容易，所以一直都用代詞詞性進行講解）
As （關(guān)系代詞指代后面的句子） is shown above， +主句）
現(xiàn)在再來看這個句子：
Nor， if regularity and conformity to a standard pattern are as desirable to the scientist as the writing of his
papers would appear to reflect， is management to be blamed for discriminating against the“odd balls” among
researchers in favor of more conventional thinkers who work well with the team.
前半句中的as…as…就不再是比較結(jié)構(gòu)了，你識別出來了嗎？
這里第二個as是關(guān)系代詞，指代的是：regularity and conformity to a standard pattern；
調(diào)整一下語序就是：
If regularity and conformity to a standard pattern as the writing of scientist's papers
would appear to reflect are as desirable to him，
As desirable 中的as 為副詞（3），如…
如果，科學家的論文寫作中所反映出的對于標準模板的一致性和規(guī)則性，（如果，科學家的論文寫作中所反映出來的對于標準模板的遵從和一致，）正是他們所想要的話，那么…
后半句順便再說一下是個倒裝：
management is not to be blamed for discriminating against the “odd balls” among
researchers in favor of more conventional thinkers who work well with the team.
