What the picture is intended to convey is a much concerned social phenomenon of over-burden on students. For example, senior middle school students are heavily burdened with all kinds of homework. They spent about 6.5 hours in their classroom a day. At home, it takes them 5 hours to finish their homework. So they only get less than 7 hours’ sleep. Their free time is only three hours. As a result, their health is badly damaged. Tough schools are urged to reduce students’ burdens, and some schools actually are making efforts, students are still under heavy pressure from extra-curricular classes。
Based on what is analyzed above, the current situation must be changed for the benefits of students. Teachers could take effective approaches to improve students’ learning efficiency and effects in class, rather than assigning too much homework. And parents should also return their children more freedom from the extracurricular classes. When these are done, students would experience greater intellectual, physical and psychological development。
