Volunteers(志愿者)

         Volunteers

    Each nation has many good people who help to take care of others. For example, some high

school and college students in the United States often spend many hours as volunteers in hospitals, orphanages or homes for the aged. They read books to the peopie in these places,or they just visit them or listen to their problems. Other young volunteers go and work in the homes of people who are sick or old. They paint,clean up,or repair houses, do their shopping and mow their lawns. For boys who no longer have fathers there is an organization  called  Big  Brothers.  College students and other men take these boys to basketball games or on fishing trips and help them to get to know things that boys usually learn from their fathers.

      Some cities have a number of clubs where boys and girls can go to play games or learn crafts. Some of these clubs show movies or organize short trips to the mountains,the beaches,museums or other places of interest. Most of these clubs use a lot of high school and college students as volunteers because they are young enough to remember the problems of younger boys and girls.

      Volunteers believe that some of the happiest people in the world are those who help to bring happiness to others.

    每個國家都有許多善良的人們幫助照顧別人。例如，美國的一些高中生和大學生經常花好多時間在醫院、孤兒院或老人院做志愿者。在這些地方他們給別人讀書，或只是看望他們或傾聽他們的問題。另外一些青年志愿者則到病人或老人家中工作。他們涂刷墻面、清理衛生或修理房屋、幫助購物或修整草坪。對那些不再有父親的男孩子，有一個被稱作“兄弟聯誼會”的組織。大學生或其他人帶這些孩子參加籃球賽、外出釣魚或幫助他們了解那些男孩子通常從父親那兒學會的事情。

    一些城市中擁有大量的俱樂部，男孩和女孩可以去那里玩游戲或學手藝。有些俱樂部還放映電影或組織短途旅行，比如爬山，游覽海灘，參觀博物館或其他名勝。大部分俱樂部使用很多高中生和大學生作為志愿者，因為他們年輕，還記得更年幼的孩子們的問題。

    志愿者相信世界上有一部分最幸福的人就是那些給別人帶來快樂的人。
