Now the 26th Centennial World Olympic Games are in full swing in Altanda. The Olympic flame is burning red and bright in the torch at the center of the Olympic square. Earlier before the official opening of the games it had been relayed one by one through the hands of runners, among them, students supported by the Chinese hope project. Thousands of people lined the struts to watch the relay.
The relay of the Olympic Flame is the symbol of the continuity between the ancient and modern Games. During the ancient Olympics a sacred flame burned at the altar of Zeus. A modern version of the flame was adopted for the Berlin Games in 1936, and the tradition has been observed ever since. The torch used to kindle the flame is first lit by the sun＇s rays at Olympia in Greece, and then carried to the site of the Games by relays of runners.Ships and planes are used when necessary.
The runners are specially chosen, All of them are hard working and as a result become overacbievers. The flame kindles the fire in everyone＇s heart to encourage people to go on and on and bring the Olympic spirit into full play.

compared with over 100 days＇ exhausting school life, summer holiday is definitely a golden time for relaxation entertainment. we can set aside the studies, lock away the textbooks, forget everything about school,greet the new life with our arms open up. during the two months＇ loose, we enjoy ourselves thoroughly, sleeping till when the sun is high in the sky, playing computer night day, watching tv as long as we want to,traveling around like a tramp. time rolls by,it is not until at the end of the holiday that we suddenly find our home assignment remaining blank sheets of paper. then we go mad,devote the last days to fulfilling the homework.
the same summer holidays pass year after year,year after year, we regret when they come to an end. we regret having wasted so time on recreations, instead of our lessons,regret having worn away our 8tth in trifles.
although it was still the case this summer, i dare say this was the most fruitful holiday i had ever spent. yes, the summer holiday i enjoyed most is this year＇s.
at the very beginning of the holiday, our head teacher instructed us to make the most of the summer coming up,then turn ourselves into bookworms. i took heart on hearing it,at once mapped out a long list of hundreds of tasks i was going to perform. i was even in higher spirits in the first days of the summer, dreaming that i stuck to the whole schedule became a super girl the next semester. but my ambition didn＇t stand the test of time. it was a few days later that my attention was continually attracted by the internet, novels,shopping malls. time flew surprisingly fast. when the vacation was already over, i realized in astonishment despair that i had acted on a half of my plan.
however, i am now consoling myself with the thought that it is human nature to have a rest after a long term＇s study; hence it is not realistic to keep working hard, even though the horrible senior 3 was around the corner. therefore, i am satisfied. i am satisfied with my daily routine in which i spent an average 9 hours in sleeping, 2 hours in eating, 2 hours in surfing the internet, 6 hours in doing some trivial things which i couldn＇t even remember,the other 5 hours in studying. after all, i have done my possible. what is more, i did have a precious pause between the intense school days,seized the last chance to relax in my senior life. so, this was a holiday combined with rest work, wasn＇t it?

having been studying here for nearly 2 years, i have come to some conclusions about how to learn enlgish well. firstly, you should try your best to enlarge your vocabulary, only in this way can you read more and understand others ms well. secondly, listening and speaking play important roles in learning english. while talking with foreigners, if you can＇t understand them, how can you epress your ideas? and the last point is that you should improve your english level whenever you can.

I have reason to support my view. Foreignstudents may find it very helpful to further improve their language skills in amixed class. Only in this way canthey get into closer contact with Chinese. Coming from afar, they are reluctantto be separated and treated as “ foreigners”. Hence to their benefits, weshould not set barriers for their deeper involvement. Only by mixing withChinese students can they gain a better knowledge of Chinese culture.

Taking into account of all these factors, wemay arrive at the conclusion that it is beneficial to adopt the practice of amixed class. A seemingly trivial event as it is in study, it may exert aprofound impact on both students’ individual life and cross-culturalcommunication.

firstly, they want to keep up with the need of the job market to produce more qualified people to take up the jobs. secondly, the expansion has entitled many high school graduates to the right of receiving higher education. last but not least, it can raise the intellectual standards of our nation.
however, studies show that the trend to expand has brought about many problems. for instance, the teaching facilities and accommodation capacities of many colleges and universities are limited and are unable to meet the demand of an ever-increasing number of the newly enrolled students. on the other hand, the average quality of the freshmen is declining. in the long run, hunting for a job will be a tough thing for the graduates and that will inevitably exert much pressure on the prospects of employment.
in spite of all this, i am still confident that the expansion of enrollment is of great benefit to our society and is a good thing. with the development of our national economy, the problem as mentioned above will be solved if proper measures are taken.
